The second level is "AI Copilot" (AI co-pilot), an auxiliary tool for technicians. For work orders that require manual judgment, AI Copilot will help technicians process them faster - providing suggested responses, retrieving knowledge base articles, summarizing work order history, and generating scripts on demand. The role of this layer is to shorten the average processing time of medium-complexity problems, rather than completely replacing humans. The third layer is the underlying RMM integration capability. Unlike pure work order systems, Atera has native built-in remote monitoring and management capabilities. This means that IT Autopilot can not only "talk" but also "do" - it can run diagnostics, push patches, restart processes, and execute scripts on the device. For automated operation and maintenance, this is a qualitative difference. In terms of specific usage experience, some interesting phenomena were discovered during the beta test. When communicating with AI agents, users will share some "embarrassing" problems that they are unwilling to tell human technicians, such as how to change the font of Google Slides, causing the number of work orders to increase instead of falling.     Atera's Robin can indeed handle many first-level work orders. We have deployed it for three months, and basically no one needs to take care of things like password reset and service restart. However, there were really many false alarms in the first two weeks, and it takes time to adjust.

    Copilot's work order summary function is really easy to use. Work orders with dozens of messages can be directly summarized into a paragraph for you.     I spent a weekend configuring Atera’s automated scripts, and now I basically don’t need to worry about patch management. However, the quality of some scripts varies, so you must test everything in the community shared library yourself before deploying it.

    When deploying the agent, about 20% of the machines were blocked by Windows Defender and had to be added to the whitelist manually, which was quite annoying. Moreover, the mobile app is really awkward and crashes after using it for a while.

    AI Copilot can indeed save half the time when writing PowerShell scripts. Just say "disable USB autorun for all Win11 terminals" and it will generate a script for you. But be sure to double check, sometimes the logic is not right.

    Overall recommended, especially for small to mid-sized MSPs on a budget. But don’t expect to save 40% of your workload right out of the box. In the first week, you will be confused by all kinds of false positives. It's much better to give it two weeks to learn your environment.
