In-depth Report
-
DuMate (Chinese name "Taazi") is a desktop-level AI agent officially launched by Baidu Intelligent Cloud in March 2026. It is positioned as a "domestic enterprise-level full-blooded version of OpenClaw". This product is driven by natural language instructions and can see the screen, operate software, process files, and connect business systems to realize full-process automation from demand to delivery. Different from traditional chatbots that can only have conversations, DuMate focuses on the autonomous execution ability of "seeing the screen and operating the software". It was fully launched on March 22, 2026, and completed 13 iterations within 25 days, with an average of three upgrades per week. On April 23, 2026, DuMate passed the two authoritative certifications of "Trusted AI Intelligent Assistant (Claw) Benchmark Test Evaluation" and "Trusted AI-Claw Trusted Capability Assessment" of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, becoming one of the first domestic products to obtain dual certifications.

DuMate, launched by Baidu Intelligent Cloud, is China's first "full-blooded version of OpenClaw" product for production environments. Baidu occupies an important position in the OpenClaw ecosystem. Its search skill ranks first in the world in terms of downloads in the OpenClaw ecosystem, with more than 45,000 times. This laid the ecological foundation for the launch of DuMate. DuMate supports MacOS (M series chips) and Windows (Win10 and above) systems, and adopts a local security sandbox operating mechanism. All data and operations are isolated and circulated within the user's local device, and no device resources will be accessed without authorization. From the perspective of technical positioning, DuMate has filled the capability gap of domestic enterprises in the field of desktop AI agents. Traditional AI assistants mostly stay at the conversational interaction level, while DuMate extends AI capabilities to the actual operation level and can complete specific desktop operation tasks on behalf of users. The boundary of this "ability to work" capability continues to expand in the direction of independent planning, multi-tool invocation, cross-platform adaptation, etc., which represents the industry trend of AI agents moving from "ability to talk" to "ability to work".

DuMate's core functions revolve around office scenarios and mainly include the following dimensions: In terms of intelligent file management, DuMate can turn messy folders into an orderly knowledge base in seconds, supports automatic classification and archiving by type, project, and time, and cleans up duplicate and invalid files. It also supports batch format conversion, including conversion between Word, Excel, PPT and PDF, as well as cross-document reading and analysis. In key information extraction scenarios, DuMate can automatically extract terms from contracts, minutes, and reports and generate structured summaries, greatly improving document processing efficiency. In terms of data analysis, DuMate supports intelligent processing of multi-source data, can understand and analyze data formats from different sources, and provides users with unified data analysis results. This capability is particularly important for office users who need to process large amounts of business data. In terms of office operation automation, DuMate is driven by natural language instructions and can automatically operate various software and browsers to automate task processes. Users only need to describe their needs in natural language, and DuMate can independently disassemble tasks, schedule tools, and complete delivery. From the user experience point of view, DuMate emphasizes ultimate ease of use. Users do not need complicated configuration, and can be used through one-click installation through the APP. The entire interaction process uses natural language, and AI can understand the user's true intentions and perform corresponding operations. At the same time, the product has a variety of high-quality skills built into it, allowing users to automatically create new skills based on business needs and achieve flexible expansion. Security is another important feature of DuMate. The product uses a local security sandbox operating mechanism, and data does not leave the device. The system provides folder-level permission control, and users can precisely control which folders DuMate can access. Implement a secondary confirmation mechanism for risky operations to avoid data loss caused by misoperations.

DuMate’s specific pricing plan has not been disclosed in public information. As a product of Baidu Intelligent Cloud, DuMate may adopt an enterprise-level SaaS subscription model, setting different subscription levels for individual users and enterprise users. From the perspective of product positioning, enterprise-level users may be the main target group, because such users have higher demands for office automation and data security.
-
According to existing reports, DuMate has received positive feedback in terms of ease of use and practicality. Tested users generally believe that compared to the original OpenClaw, DuMate performs better in four aspects: simpler installation and configuration, more friendly interface interaction, higher degree of localization of functions, and better adaptation to domestic office scenarios. In particular, its feature of "getting to know you more the more you use it" can gradually understand user habits as users use it, and provide more accurate services. Fast product iteration is another notable feature. In the 25 days from its full launch on March 22 to April 15, DuMate completed 13 function upgrades, an average of three upgrades per week, and continued to strengthen its practical capabilities. This high-frequency iteration model shows how much Baidu attaches importance to product research and development.
-
From an industry perspective, the launch of DuMate marks the entry of domestic desktop AI agents into a period of rapid development. On April 23, 2026, DuMate passed the "Trusted AI Intelligent Assistant (Claw) Benchmark Test Evaluation" of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and obtained functional level 4+ (the highest current rating). It also completed the "Trusted AI-Claw Trusted Capability Assessment" dual certification, becoming one of the first domestic products to obtain dual certifications. This certification result validates DuMate's performance in terms of functional integrity and reliability. Industry analysts believe that AI intelligent assistants represented by OpenClaw are moving from "able to talk" to "able to work", and the boundaries of their capabilities are constantly expanding towards independent planning, multi-tool invocation, and cross-platform adaptation. As the first domestic product to achieve this capability, DuMate provides a reference standard for domestic enterprise-level AI agents.

There is currently less controversy and negative information about DuMate. The main potential risks focus on the following aspects: The first is data privacy risk. Although DuMate uses a local sandbox running mechanism, users still need to authorize it to access local files. How to strike a balance between convenience and security is a question that users need to consider on their own. Secondly, there is the issue of functional boundaries. DuMate has strong automation capabilities, but its execution effect in complex scenarios still needs to be verified. For tasks that require precise control, users may need to spend time familiarizing themselves with system behavior. Finally, there is the issue of ecological compatibility. As an emerging product, DuMate’s compatibility with various office software requires continuous verification. Some users reported functional limitations in specific scenarios that need to be resolved through subsequent iterations.
-
DuMate is suitable for the following user groups: office users who need to process large amounts of files and documents, corporate employees who need data sorting and analysis, individual users who pursue efficiency improvements, and users who have higher requirements for data privacy. For first-time users, it is recommended to start with simple file organization tasks and gradually become familiar with the operating logic of the system. During use, pay attention to setting folder permissions appropriately to avoid granting unnecessary access scope. For enterprise users, it is recommended to complete internal testing before formal deployment to evaluate compatibility with existing office systems. In terms of alternatives, if some functions of DuMate cannot meet your needs, you can consider OpenClaw (original version) or other desktop automation tools as a supplement. However, from the perspective of localization and service support, DuMate has obvious advantages in the domestic market.
-
DuMate, as a desktop-level AI agent launched by Baidu Intelligent Cloud, represents the development direction of domestic AI office assistants. Its product characteristics of "natural language drive, full-process automation, and local safe operation" make it highly practical in the field of office automation. With high-frequency iterations and authoritative certifications, DuMate is maturing rapidly, but users still need to pay attention to data permission management and functional boundary control issues during use.
