I used to unconsciously scroll through Google News for a long time and get more anxious. Now I open Kagi News at noon, spend five minutes reading a dozen or so top stories, understand the context, and close it to do other things. This habit has noticeably reduced my cognitive load. Of course it's not perfect—the limited Africa coverage, occasional AI errors, and the unfriendly impact on creators are all real issues. But I'm willing to trade these for a healthier information intake rhythm. I hope Kagi sticks with its free strategy and keeps improving source quality. -

As a small tech media operator, I've noticed a decline in traffic from news aggregators since Kagi News started aggregating our content. Users read the summary in Kagi and feel that's enough, rarely clicking through to the original. Kagi of course provides source links, but the conversion rate from summary to click is far lower than Google News's headline-plus-excerpt format. I'm not against AI summary technology, but I hope the platform considers some form of revenue sharing, since the cost of producing original content is very real. -
