Clade

In-depth Report

  • Clade is an “AI COO living in a chat software.” It does not build a new project management panel, but runs directly on Telegram, Slack and iMessage that the team is already using, and uses natural language to take over the recurring coordination actions - urging progress, drafting follow-up, and warning risks. It was listed on Product Hunt on June 30, 2026. It received 107 votes that day, ranked 15th, and was selected by editors. The product idea is clear, but the team background and complete pricing in the public information are still vague. It is suitable for small teams to test the waters at a low cost, and it is still far from being a "replacement project manager".

  • Clade’s selling point is to start from the “pain points of team collaboration” rather than from “yet another AI assistant”. Its official positioning is AI product manager/digital COO: it automatically runs repetitive coordination tasks such as stand-up meetings, follow-ups, decision recording, and responsibility tracking from within the messaging tool. The description on Product Hunt says that it can run standups, follow-ups, decisions, and accountability routines in Telegram, Slack, and iMessage; founders can tell it to rush a delayed customer for approval, prepare a status summary, or remind someone when they are about to default, without having to manually move information between tools. What needs special distinction is that there is also a company with the same name "Clade" (clade.co / clade.dev / clade.team) on the market, which is engaged in AI infrastructure (due diligence, portfolio monitoring, IC memo) for investment institutions. It is headquartered in New York and its founders are Jonathan Lipton, Jan Oliver Koelble, and Brian Solon. That is another product, another company, and has nothing to do with clade.ai (the AI COO in the chat) discussed in this article, and cannot be confused when quoted. As for the team and financing situation behind clade.ai, there is currently very little public information, and the official website has not disclosed it. There is no speculation here.

  • Clade’s core proposition is “operational follow-through.” It says that it can learn a team, write in the voice of the team, and deliver the work; the official website also describes automation that can be set in vernacular and run as planned. This makes it more like a proactive project coordinator than a general chatbot. Specific abilities can be broken down into several pieces. The first is status tracking and follow-up: it will actively chase members for progress updates, push customers and project work forward, and draft follow-up content. The second is natural language automation: you describe a cyclical workflow in plain language, and it can be built and executed as planned, such as "pull out the top ten selling SKUs from Shopify every Monday morning, compare the supplier's delivery date, and mark the products that will be out of stock within 14 days." A third-party evaluation (pidune) actually tested that this capability "really works" and a usable automation was built within two minutes. The third is tone learning: it will imitate the tone of voice of the team after several tasks. In the pidune test, after three customer service replies, the reply drafted by Clade was close to the tone and abbreviation habits of the fictional team members. The fourth is risk warning: mark red in advance when a task begins to slip. The fifth is the web-side "cockpit": when a global view is needed, the web application gives a complete project overview. Clade has a special selling point in terms of "trustworthiness": its memory can be inspected. The Product Hunt page says that each learned "fact" will reveal the source and confidence level, and users can confirm or correct it; there are five levels of trust, from observer to operator, and the team can start with "just watching" and then gradually delegate authority after confirming that it is reliable. This type of progressive delegation is important for products that encounter employee dynamics, customer work, and internal decision-making.

  • Clade's pricing is currently not transparent. The banner on Product Hunt is "Free Telegram version + one-minute setup", but neither the release page nor the public homepage gives a complete paid price list. The third-party information is inconsistent with each other: pidune claims that it has a free tier and the payment is about US$49/month; rightaichoice directly labels "Contact Sales (Contact Sales)"; some review sites give statements such as "free Pro tier", which is doubtful in credibility. Therefore, the actual price must be confirmed by contacting the manufacturer. Buyers should focus on asking: How do Slack, iMessage, and the Web end charge for each, whether there are additional charges for adding people and increasing trust levels, and whether manual approval is required for actions.

  • As an early-stage product that was only launched at the end of June 2026, Clade had very few official comments on Product Hunt (chatgate recorded 0 comments at the time). Some signals can be seen from third-party evaluations and the Chinese community. pidune did three days of actual testing and gave it a score of 3.8/5: it affirmed that the natural language building workflow "really works" and the brand tone learning was "surprising", but complained about two pain points - cross-platform synchronization was interrupted twice during the test because the Shopify webhook was not triggered, and Clade would not proactively alert. rightaichoice gave it a "survivability" score of 93/100 and labeled it a "Safe Bet". It also pointed out its weaknesses: only three chat apps, no API, no Jira/Asana native synchronization, no visual project view, and the free item is more like a one-time audit than an ongoing free tier. Comments from the Chinese community (Product Hunt Chinese site) focused on "no need to push progress every day", "convenient integration in iMessage", "really fewer meetings" and "small teams are an artifact". However, some people hope to support more tools, large projects require more detailed permission control, and edge cases are occasionally missed.

  • In the "AI Operation/AI PM" track, Clade's differentiation is very clear: it does not let you learn a new interface or build a logic tree, but uses chat to outsource operations. Compared with old automation tools such as Zapier (with AI) and Make, Clade's setup is lighter (15-20 minutes vs 30-90 minutes) and natural language input is full, while Zapier/Make is still based on templates or visual drag and drop; the price is that the integration depth is far less than Zapier's 5000+ application connections, and unpopular tools or custom APIs have to use Zapier as a bridge. In the review, chatgate positioned it as a "focused and extremely transparent coordination solution", especially suitable for teams whose bottleneck is "continuous coordination" rather than "task planning".

  • The first risk is that the integration scope is too narrow. Only connecting to Slack, Telegram, and iMessage means that the project tools (Jira, Asana, Linear, Trello) actually used by a large number of teams cannot be used, and the ability to synchronize across tools is naturally limited; teams that require in-depth reports, Gantt charts, or complex portfolio planning will quickly hit the ceiling. The second risk is the boundaries of autonomy. It can expose a missed deadline without solving sensitive issues around priorities and people; using it as a substitute for management judgment is dangerous. The third risk is data and permissions. Clade needs to access the team's communication system. There are no detailed descriptions of security, retention, and compliance modules in the public materials. Supervised or highly confidential teams must obtain these answers before receiving real data. At the same time, who has the authority to increase the trust level and whether corrections can be reliably disseminated also need to be tested. The fourth risk is that pricing is not transparent. Early teams are easily attracted by "free", but they encounter unclear budgets when adding people, adding channels, and increasing rights.

  • Clade is best suited for digital agencies, startups, professional services teams, and distributed teams where collaboration is scattered across chats and the founders also serve as project managers. It is especially suitable for teams that "would rather deliver than manage" and can effectively reduce stand-up meetings and manual status synchronization. It is not suitable for: teams that require in-depth reporting/Gantt and prefer visual PM interfaces (Asana, Jira); freelancers who work alone and only need personal task management; and organizations that cannot allow external agents to enter the communication system. If you plan to try it, it is recommended to start with a low-risk workflow, set it to observer level, make people responsible for decisions, test the "missed follow-up" and "correction hit rate", and then decide whether to scale up.

  • Clade took the mysterious-sounding concept of "AI COO" and put it into a very specific niche: allowing the team to hand over the coordination work by speaking in the chat software they already use. Its natural language automation and tone learning are real skills, and its five-level trust and viewable memory also reflect the restraint of "delegating power to the agent." The shortcomings are equally clear - narrow integration, no API, opaque pricing, and lack of real reviews in the early stages. For newly launched small teams, it is worthy of being a low-cost test; for mature or strong compliance teams, be an observer first and don’t rush to hand over the keys.
